Whisper
Whisper, born Joseph Dowdy, is the co-founder of Crossfire Records. Whisper fought poverty, drugs and prejudice before finding God. During a stint in jail, he gained a new, positive outlook on life that stemmed from his introduction to Christ during regular Bible study meetings. After his release, Dowdy took the name "Whisper," and dedicated himself to helping others overcome the temptations of street life through music and praise. His 2005 album "The Quiet Story" tells of his hardships and triumphs.
Trialz
After Trialz grew up in poverty, the Lord helped him renounce anger and create a new life as a college graduate and family man. His upcoming CD, "The Passion of Trialz," chronicles his difficulties with poverty, violence, drugs and disrespect, while always including an emphasis on the support and love of his Creator. The songs recount God's part in the changes and progress that led to the album's recording.
Jamie
One of Crossfire Record's youngest artists, 19-year-old Jamie has used her powerful voice as a spiritual instrument since her days in the children's choir of Foursquare Gospel Church of God in Christ. Since then, she has continued her message of faith and divine empowerment through her music, performing songs like the uplifting "I Want the World to Know".
Crossfire Records is a labor of love, held together by the street backgrounds of its artists and their shared experiences of victory over oppression through the grace of Jesus Christ. The label allows musicians to release CDs that praise and honor the Lord.
